Ten years ago this week, we were standing in a shipping container about 2kms from Nzo HQ, wondering if we had gone completely mad. We were surrounded by boxes of t shirts and hoodies, it was raining outside, and we had no clue how many people would turn up to watch the 2006 UCI Mountain Bike Worlds in our hometown of Rotorua.
The weather came right, the people turned up, and saw history being made.
Julien Absalon won the XC... he is still a contender and will be racing for an Olympic medal this weekend.
Sam Hill finally lived up to his massive potential and took out his first Downhill title.
Kiwis Cam Cole and Sam Blenkinsop finished 1-2 in the junior DH.
By the end of the week we had emptied the container, and we have avoided doing anything that stressful since.
To celebrate our small part in that epic week a decade ago, we have reproduced some of the 06 gear.
Available for the next week as custom prints, limited time only.
